We have a video called Top 3 Exercises for Herniated Disc…if your pain is truly from a disc herniation, this should decrease the pain in your leg and “centralize” it towards your back.
OK. We have over 1,000 patients come in/year for back pain…many with disc herniations per MRI. Most are pain free and back to living normal lives within 4 to 6 weeks.
hi
i’ve injured myself on the gym, and now i feel a pain on the right glute and also sciatica pain on same leg everything i sit.
i dont feel this pain when i move actually i feel better if i move or go to the gym, i also dont feel any pain if i sneeze or cought.
could this be an herniated disc on lower back?
I suggest you find a top notch physiotherapist at one of the leading universities to look at your rib cage, especially the first and 2nd ribs…especially with the lung spasms. We have a video called Top 3 Exercises for Neck Pain…they would be good exercises for you likely…consult your physio.
Thanks.Exactly I have a bulging disc C2-C3 and a pinched nerve for 5 weeks. I have heat in my head (like temperature),and neck pain, a little bit of hand shudder. This simptoms I still can survive, but I have a lungs spasm!!!
5 weeks ago I felt from my snowboard on the head. I did MRI but I still vait the result.Yesterday I did some neck extensions and turns and I feel better now. But I am wandering how far I can go with exercises i do not want to agravate the situation. What do you suggest me?
What type of injury? Severe trauma…usually want to allow swelling to subside prior to beginning the type of exercise you’re describing. Chronic flare up, most can exercise immediately.
Backward bending exercises are for lower back.
A bulging disc can become pain free and completely retract all bulging material. The fibers that hold it in, annulous fibrosous, heal as well. Spine surgeons see this. Radiologists can see it in series of MRIs of a person’s spine over time.
Good video. I have problems with my neck. I have fiew questions: How many time after the injury you can start the bending backwards exercising- it is good to exercise durring the inflammation?
Are those bending backwards exercises good for neck bulging disc too?
Can a bulging disc heal completly?
And if I do the banding backwards exercises will I be able to do my jumping exercises again?
Thanks from Croatia.
Usually not a negative…in rare cases a “rebound” or “traction response”, but very uncommon (less than 1%. If it’s going to work, you should have relief day 1…even if not for long, say an hour or so…this should improve over time, if so, with core strengthening.
are there any negatives to the decompression table or is this treatment not recommended if you dont have sciatica and the pain is only in lower back. Soory for all the questions its just i dont know much about dis herniation’s and how to get better.
feb 13th 2012 i had a free massage at a hotel in CT. first she pressed with both hands, lots of pressure, and tried a back decompression maneuver of some kind. then while on my back the women lifted and pulled my leg. after the massage was over i got of the table and felt a zinging deep pain in my buttock. affecting my walk. today is april 21. i can’t sit, sleep or walk well. True after this incident i continued to work out. dead lifting and squatting tried a chiropractor(worst mistake). help!!
well i had read that a lot of athleates who get disc herniations get the surgery done(Dwight Howard), i know that the severity of the injury is different from person to person i just assumed the surgery was the sure way of fixing it. ive been doing the exercises in your other video and my lower back is starting to hurt less and less when doing them i hope this is a sighn that my back is getting better. i also wanted to know what you think about decompression therapy, ive read that it works well.
Centralized pain without leg symptoms usually means minimal nerve damage, less herniation and easier and faster healing.
We have a video called the Top 3 Exercises for Disc Herniation on our youtube channel…should be able to click on the maddenptofficial link and find it.
also im only 18 years old and i want to be able to return to playing basketball for college so is it possible to get healthy enough to return playing in 3-4 months. and if the herniation isnt very bad is it better to get surgery to fix it completely?

could be…a PT could tell in a few minutes.
Do you think my my lungs spazam come from my ribs?
Sorry Don for not responding sooner…
How is your pain now?
Likely disc herniation.

Acupuncture is the only way?

No acupuncture…just PT.
runs down back of the leg
Then likely a herniated disc OR pelvic issue. Is the sciatica pain running down the back of your leg or outside of your leg?
doing squats
Could be.
How did you injure yourself at the gym?

Can You Heal a Herniated Disc?
Not sure if that is what you meant by healing completely.
Not sure the bending backwards exercises will help you jump again?
Welcome.
Thank you.

Varies…can be immediate or weeks depending on severity.
how long does it take to get the herniated disc back in place and tingling to stop in your foot?

Good sign for you…Dwight H. was not improving with injection and rehab.
4 things work for back pain…decompression is one of them…especially for people with symptoms in their legs.

Possible to be healthy? Yes. You sound young and healthy, your healing should be quick.
Where did you get the idea that surgery fixes a disc herniation completely?
