Chili, the singing French Bulldog

This is how Chili greets her family. She also breaks out in song when I’m singing to the radio. Diagnosed with advanced spinal arthritis at only 6 months old, Chili learned an alternate way to enjoy life!

What frame of reference do you have here? China already has such a policy in place, whereas other countries like Japan are actually dying out and are giving incentives for families to have children. Some countries don’t have a population problem, some have too many people, while others have too few.

You’ll be please to know that I have never had the desire make children. However, if I did ever decide to raise a kid, I would certainly adopt. I think it would be awesome to encourage people to put the breaks on reproduction for a year or three, and try to helps kids (or animals) that are already here. Perhaps if there were some sort of tax incentive, but I am sure people would abuse that and possibly put kids in danger…

Do you have children of your own? If so, there are plenty of children who live in foster homes and group homes. You should adopt. You shouldn’t be allowed to have children of your own, when there are so many unwanted children in the world.

Is it okay for two blind people to reproduce? Their children might be blind. Is it okay for two deaf people to have children? The children may turn out deaf. What if two seemingly “normal” people have children and have a child with no arms and legs? Should they abort the baby before it’s born?

So very true. I personally don’t believe there is ANY reason to breed animals whose sole purpose is companionship while there are so many healthy animals being put down in shelters daily. Even the ones that are bred for certain jobs are arguably unnecessary (there are plenty of mutts serving with the police, as therapy animals, etc). People would be up in arms if they found out two people congenital defects to this extent were planning on reproducing. Why is it okay to do with animals?
